Spotlight On... Tracy Demeter |
|||||
Tracy Demeter is a student in her final semester in the Radiologic Technology degree program at Lakeland Community College. Upon her completion of the program in July, she will be taking her national exam and subsequently receiving her Associate of Applied Science Degree. She also possesses a B.A. in Health Care Services Management from Ursuline College. A radiologic technologist is part of a multi-disciplinary approach to caring for patients. Tracy’s goal is to become the best radiologic technologist possible through the continued growth of technical and professional skills. She also would like to pursue a master’s degree or specialize in another modality in the radiology department. She actively participated in clinical experiences at both University Hospital Chagrin/Highlands and Lake East Hospital. Tracy mentioned, “I was given the opportunity to work side-by-side with phenomenal and highly skilled technologists. I found my time at both locations invaluable.” “I am very grateful to Lakeland ’s Radiology program directors, and I look forward to utilizing the skills I’ve learned in the future,” Tracy said. Some of her duties as a technologist will be performing imaging examinations, processing x-rays, evaluating radiographic equipment and providing information to patients regarding specific imaging procedures. Tracy is excited and ready to begin her professional career. “I utilized Lakeland’s Career Services’ expertise in resume writing. I met with the resume technician to reformat and create a resume that not only I was happy with, but one an employer would appreciate as well. I learned that a job search includes many small details, from the resume to networking,” Tracy offered. “Although I spent a short amount of time in the Career Services department, the entire staff was always willing to help. Any questions I had were quickly answered whether in person, by phone call, or email. I will continue to take advantage of their services in the future and hope other students get the chance to experience all that Career Services has to offer.” If you are an employer who is looking for a student with Tracy ’s excellent skills and training, please contact Career Services at Lakeland Community College.
